CUSTOM TIES STARTED OFF AS CRAVATS PART 6

In part one we spoke about the history of cravats, how they originated and morphed into custom ties. in part 2, I  discussed more of the history and some of  the psychology behind custom ties or cravats as they were called in those days.

In part 3, I discussed the way in which cravats were made in the 1700’s compared to how custom ties are made or manufactured by tie makers or tie manufacturers these days.

In part 4, I expanded on the make up of custom ties in comparison to the original construction of cravats by the Croat soldiers.

In part 5, I continue with this discussion relating to how modern day custom ties and custom scarves are made, what fabric is required, the print type used, and generally benefits as opposed to for example woven ties as opposed to printed ties.

In part 6, we finalise the fabric and manufacturing process of custom ties and custom scarves

Tie makers as a whole do not necessarily manufacture only custom ties in their factories. They also manufacture corporate scarves aswell as custom scarves, keeping in mind that corporate scarves are really a sub section  of custom scarves just as corporate ties or company ties, branded ties, woven ties, printed ties, promotional ties, school ties, matric ties, club ties and so the list goes on are all really a sub section of custom ties.

So with this in mind, lets have a look at the similarities and polar opposites of woven ties versus printed ties.

With printed ties, we understand from the previous discussions we have had in this interesting series of blogs relating to custom ties starting off as cravats, that printed ties are made from a process of cutting out a printed panel which has been printed on by using a process of sublimation. This process of sublimation guarantees for the most part, providing the printer knows what they are doing, the equipment they are using is of a high standard aswell as the consumables, such as transfer paper, ink etc aswell as the quality of fabric used is all of a high standard that a good result will be achieved.

Once this result is achieved and the panels are printed and ready to cut, they are then cut by a cutter and ready for the custom ties to be manufactured.

The same relates to custom scarves and corporate scarves, the very same process is used for custom scarves as is used for custom ties.

The cutters job is extremely important- if they cut the panels wrongly, which is easier to do with woven panels than with printed panels then the cost could be huge. The cutter needs to ensure that the panels are cut in such a way that the logo or logo’s will be in the correct position.

It is not so difficult to cut the panels for printed ties because, the cutter is pretty much shown where to cut but mistakes can be made if they don’t pay specific attention.
