Without tie manufacturers, custom ties could not be created or manufactured. One may think this is a small thing but globally, custom ties in one form or another are made by the millions.
Around the world there are thousands of tie makers or tie manufacturers who specialise in making custom ties of one sort or another, most ly I have to say, in the form of fashion ties but the fact is that any tie manufacturer can make any type of custom tie including also ladies scarves or custom scarves.
So from this perspective, although there are many tie makers or tie manufacturers who stick to the manufacture of fashion ties, there are also many who venture into corporate ties or company ties, club ties, promotional ties, branded ties, printed ties, woven ties and you name it really- any panel of fabric that has been printed can probably be made into some form of custom ties within reason- the fabric must of course be stable enough to work with- keep in mind that fabric moves and custom ties are made by hand so the effort involved to make custom ties is quite significant, they require a lot of attention to detail.
Custom scarves however, are a different kettle of fish because generally, custom scarf fabric is way more flexible and has a lot more stretch than custom tie fabric however, it must be lept in mind that it is only the edge of custom scarves that need to be sewn so the mechanics involved or should I say the technique involved in the making of custom scarves is far less than custom ties which as I have explained are quite time consuming and complicated.
Tie makers or tie manufacturers have been around for years, in fact for centuries in one form or another and I say this because the first fashion neckwear, especially for men came as a result of the 30 year war where the Croat soldiers made themselves strips of different coloured fabric to identify them and show where they belonged(which French battalion they fought for etc.,
This then resulted in the introduction of the cravat named after the word Croat as worn by the Croat soldiers in a much more simpler and rougher form albeit.
The cravat was a coveted and fashionable item back in the late 1700”s and onwards from there and was viewed most definitely as a fashionable piece of clothing to be worn with more smarter or formal clothing.
From there of course, the cravat developed into what we now know as custom ties which come in many forms such as corporate ties or school ties, club ties, branded ties and even matric ties.
I always think how the evolution of certain items is quite amazing, where one item runs out of steam, being the old fashioned cravat and so gives way to a new item being custom ties= its quite amazing how things really do evolve.
