I have been involved with ties and scarves for over 30 years, from all kins of custom ties and custom scarves supplying into corporates in the form of corporate ties, corporate scarves, company ties, promotional ties, branded ties and so the list goes on aswell as into schools in the from of school ties, club ties, matric ties, sports ties and so on.

At the same time, my involvement has also been in many other things such as gifts,corporate clothing, corporate socks, branded socks, knitwear such as jerseys, pullovers etc and not least of all corporate gifts and what I have noticed over all the years is that all of these items come and go in one form or another from style, type of fabric or material uses change, they become more or less efficient for one reason or another, they change in look or make up, in style and in the way they are made all the time, especially when it comes to gifts.

They are never consistent and never ongoing, they are not available from one year to another, discontinued, dumped, a good idea or a bad idea.

The charm runs out, the idea dies, the product type or line becomes obsolete, the buyers become fatigued and want something else, something new or different, not the same old same old as they have done the previous year.

So the fact that these items change and metamorphosise on and ongoing basis is understandable and acceptable and actually the norm.

But when it comes to custom ties and scarves, these items don’t change, they haven’t really changed in 30 years or more- yes, custom ties and custom scarves have evolved a little, the fabric has perhaps been improved, the sublimation process(undoubtedly) has been improved upon, but essentially, corporate ties, company ties, corporate scarves, club ties, promotional ties, branded ties and even matric ties have not really changed.

Yes, over the years, the patterns and designs have perhaps changed slightly, the widths have changed a little but always reverted back to what they once were.

In the world of custom ties and custom scarves, the more things change, the more things stay the same and its interesting to see this when one is presented with custom ties made for corporate use or corporate ties as they are commonly known are handed to me to have a look, its got your label on and I look at it and realise that these custom ties were made 30 or 40 years ago and you know what? There is not a lot of difference between them and what we make today.

So what I am trying to say is that not only is there a level of consistency in neckwear, and that nothing really changes that much, I am also trying to say that custom ties and custom scarves reign supreme in the world of branded gifts and giveaways even if many of them are made for uniform purposes.
