I thought I would bring in some thought provoking points as to why its possible that design doesn’t matter, you will understand having read the previous blog as to why my posting this blog is actually quite important.
In my last blog, I stressed that when it comes to the production and design of custom ties, corporate scarves or custom scarves, corporate socks, corporate jewellery and when discussing custom ties, I will include in that description such custom ties as branded ties, promotional ties, club ties, matric ties, printed ties, woven ties, old boys ties, sports ties and so the list goes on when it comes to the myriad of custom ties that can be found and yes- all falling under the description of custom ties.
The key thing to keep in mind when it comes to design is actually how much emphasis the client places on design because for the most part, the majority of clients when purchasing custom ties don’t really place that much emphasis on design, they place more emphasis on the fact that the company logo, branding or colours are displayed correctly within the design of the tie and the reason for this actually quite simple.
Very few people understand the dynamics of design, especially the design of items such as custom ties or corporate ties, custom scarves or corporate scarves, corporate socks and corporate jewellery and would rather leave the design to the manufacturers or the professionals as we are sometimes known and this makes a huge amount of sense simply because as manufacturers, we know exactly what should be included custom ties and the design thereof, the same being with custom scarves.
We know that it is most important to achieve an acceptable inclusion of the logo and colours and that the most important issue is not that custom ties are acceptable in design to just one individual but rather that they are acceptable in design to the majority of individuals and for this very reason, it is important to state that although design does very much matter, it is also true to say that in many cases, design doesn’t matter because it is most important to suit the average wearer and not particularly the person ordering the custom ties or custom scarves.
I say this because one individual's taste especially when it comes to fashion related items is very much different to another and so if we can satisfy the 80% and not just the 20%, chances are that regardless of design, the actual item will be more popular, accepted and as a result, worn.
So I hope that what I have said has made a bit of sense, and I appeal through this to the persons appointed to either design the custom ties, custom scarves, corporate socks and corporate jewellery to think twice about pushing their preferences too much but rather to try and take the majority preference into account.
