Whether its corporate ties, company ties, custom ties for schools, branded ties, custom school ties, promotional ties, matric tie designs, matric ties, bobby knot ties, printed ties or sports ties made for ties south Africa, school ties, matric ties or for that matter any form of ties can be either printed ties or woven ties, it doesn’t matter the fabric type because regardless of whether they are printed ties or woven ties, they are all known as custom ties which carry some form of design on them and are identifiable as a specific type of tie for a specific need such as school ties or company ties or just branded ties for any application really.
There was a day when woven ties were the most sought after ties but that was many years ago when printed ties were cheap and nasty. Unfortunately some old schoolers still label printed ties as not desirable which is completely wrong but sadly, sometimes it difficult to change perceptions of people which is understandable and forgiveable.
Nowadays, especially when it comes to ad-hoc ties such as corporate ties or company ties or branded ties, most of them are now printed, not woven for many reasons- its quicker, its more precise, its certainly cheaper and definitely more exact when it comes to preciseness of design.
Woven ties are beautiful, no doubt but they don’t come without their issues when it comes to the production aspects, design etc.
Woven ties, I have to say do work really well when it comes to plain stripes for schools or clubs and the fact is that once a development has been done and approved, from then onwards, it’s a breeze to run more fabric and make them up into woven ties with stripes and no logo.
Where it does become a little trickier is when there is a design or logo involved. Positioning of the logo is often paramount to the client, especially when the design needs to follow a previous design or when there is a high degree of exactness required by the customer- a bank for example would be a typical example of this as they certainly require attention to detail when it comes to the positioning and exactness of the corporate logo.
This is where printed ties are so much more easier and straightforward and require far less hassling to ensure these requirements. Also, it is much easier to change a position or something in the layout with printed ties than with woven ties. so what I am really saying is that the ease factor and hassle factor of producing printed ties from scratch is way less than that of woven ties.
So ultimately, both options have their benefits and at the end of the day, it is obviously the clients choice as to which way they go- printed ties or woven ties- but if they love the look and feel of woven ties which many people do then they should continue that route,
If they like clarity of design, a clean cut look, boldness of colours, then printed ties are the way to go.
