There is a huge difference between printed ties in one way and in another, there is little difference.
The reason why I say this is because both options essentially are custom ties- they fall under that umbrella description.
So printed ties and woven ties can essentially be anything from school ties to corporate ties to company ties to matric ties using matric tie designs, sports ties and so the list goes on.
All of these custom ties are made by tie manufacturers also known as tie makers.
When it comes to custom scarves or corporate scarves, it is important to note that these items generally would not be woven because the fabric would be too thick and coarse for wearing, generally any custom scarves are printed and not woven.
For many years until sublimation or other types of print became a viable alternative, woven ties were the rage, in fact all custom ties were woven ties there was no such thing as printed ties for many years, probably up to around the early 1970’s.
Whereas woven ties were manufactured by tie makers for many years prior to this date.
It was and in certain cases still is a belief of people that woven ties are better than printed ties which is simply not the case.
Whilst on occasion, woven ties can look extremely upmarket, so can printed ties also achieve this purely from the mix of rich colours combined with quality fabric and made by good tie makers.
Many school striped ties are still woven and the fact is that it is still fairly economical to weave school striped ties as opposed to woven ties with logos which is no longer the case when compared against the cost of printed ties.
Personally, I don’t have a huge preference for either printed ties or woven ties except that the detail and vibrant colours one is able to achieve through printed ties as opposed to woven ties is significant. It is possible to achieve vibrancy and detail with woven ties when using highly specked machinery but generally its true that when it comes to colour and detail, printed ties are the way to go.
Obviously, both of these options are custom ties and so can be designed within reason to accommodate most design requirements. In fact when it comes to printed ties, one can go to town on design.
It is generally accepted that woven ties would be more subdued and simpler in design than that of printed ties which is great if that’s your preference in design.
Woven ties are made from woven fabric which begins its life as different coloured strands of yarn woven together to make up a piece of designed tie fabric whilst printed ties are made up from printed fabric which began its life as a plain white piece of polyester fabric which is then sublimated.
In both cases, polyester is the core of the fabric used to make custom ties. this is the same for printed scarves or custom scarves.
