Let me say first up that  striped ties are actually custom ties made by tie manufacturers or tie makers.

So if that is the case, then all types of ties including company ties, corporate ties and branded ties and for that matter, corporate scarves and custom scarves are all made by tie manufacturers or tie makers under the umbrella of custom ties.

It is a well known fact in the tie manufacturing environment that all ties including fashion ties fall under the description of custom ties.

So what are custom ties? they are quite simply ties that are designed and manufactured for a specific purpose which if you think about it carefully, really includes any type of tie as all ties have some form of uniqueness about them

Whether it’s the design or the logo or the way the tie is constructed, all ties have a significant amount of uniqueness about them.

This includes I might add, striped ties for the reasons I have explained.

So with striped ties, in other words, ties that have no logo, the uniqueness is in the colour and number and thickness of the stripes.

No one school should be the same as far as their striped ties are concerned however, it does happen from time to time with certain schools due to the fact that unfortunately, there are importers who bring in ready made striped ties from the far East which are pre made with specific striped ties designs.

So it would make sense that if a school wishes to have new striped ties which are custom ties or if they are perhaps a new school, they may well approach a reseller who stocks ready made striped ties and chooses something that another school already has thereby duplicating the use of the striped tie design which was not really the idea in the first place.

Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that these resellers are wrong and neither am I knocking them by importing ready made striped ties form the far East, as they do seem to be cheaper which does then offer schools who may be challenged financially, a better opportunity to buy their ties at a lower price- NB: quality these days dictates that most of the time, one gets what one pays for, but in any case, for the most part, they are doing a good job as far as affordability is concerned but it would be beneficial if somebody kept a record of which school has which stripe so that schools don’t end up duplicating and having the same stripe.

Striped ties are as important as logod school ties because of the stripes, which basically represent the logo and the school colours, so this is really quite an important issue.

So ultimately, when tie manufacturers or tie makers make striped ties or custom ties they are making the same tie, its only that the stripes in the ties tell the story and not the logo or crest.
