When differentiating between striped school ties and custom ties its important to note that there are several differences in some way however in many ways there are no differences between striped school ties and custom ties.

It is also important to note that striped school ties are in fact school ties without any other form of branding for example the school crest or logo as opposed to what we know about school ties being ties with a school crest.

So the very word custom ties infers that striped school ties are custom made specifically for the purpose of identifying the school by way of the colours in the tie.

For example, Jeppe Girls High School has only white tie with black stripes and this is how they have been forever and this is how any student is recognised, apart from the actual uniform, is by the striped school ties worn by the young ladies attending this prestigious school.

Just because striped school ties do not have any logo on them, doesn’t mean in any way that they are not branded ties equal to those other ties within the particular school that may well be branded with the school logo.

I say this because it is important to understand that it is not always necessary to brand school, ties with a logo or crest for the particular school to be easily identifies by its school ties.

The way the tie is designed and the colours used, normally the official colours of the school itself will most often be used in the design of the striped school ties, it would really, in most cases not make any sense not to do it this way- after all, why not celebrate the school colours in any possible way.

Striped school ties are not the only striped ties that are used by institutions. We have many clubs and companies, especially those companies who have uniform ties(security companies for example) who also use striped ties with no logo- one of the reasons being that it is cheaper to produce a plain striped tie than to produce one with a logo, the process of print and manufacture is different and so the difference in costs.

When it comes to corporate scarves, the same kind of rule applies, although not so much from a schools perspective as they tend not to have this kind of item within their uniform range.

However, companies, especially those who prefer to issue uniform to their staff(for example banking, security etc) often also do not have the logo on corporate scarves or custom scarves also for the reason that they are cheaper without but also, very often its just not necessary as the stripes have a similar effect on an outsider or visitor as most often, the stripes are recognised as being the company or institutional branded scarf design and don’t require a logo.

It must always be kept in mind when discussing any type of tie, that all ties are custom ties simply because they have an exclusive design and logo.
