This is such a good question as one would think that they are the same thing but in reality, corporate ties and company ties are not the same thing.
Very much as corporate scarves and company scarves are also not the same thing.
And although these items are all sub items of custom ties and custom scarves, they do have a difference if one takes the absolute meaning.
So as I understand it and I should given my time in this business, corporate ties are those ties specifically made for a company or corporate or for that matter an institution with the sole purpose of being handed out as gifts or worn by staff but in a more upmarket scenario.
So for example banking attire complimented by a tie or a scarf could be referred to as either corporate ties or corporate scarves or company ties or company scarves but the likelihood of reference would more likely be corporate ties and corporate scarves as these items are certainly viewed on a different level to company ties or company scarves.
If you are struggling to understand my meaning, let us take another example of reference to company ties or company scarves.
At many security points that are reasonably high level, for example hotels, banks, upmarket office buildings etc, very often, the security staff will wear company ties or company scarves.
These items will either have the name of their security firm or the name of the place they are guarding, these will have been specially made by the security company for the sole purpose of being worn by the security looking after the building or institution.
These items would traditionally not be called corporate scarves or corporate ties- they may be referred to as uniform ties and uniform scarves but generally they would be referred to as company ties and scarves.
The same would go for example a furniture group- many of them insist that their staff dress formally and as such, wear company ties and company scarves, these would not be referred to as corporate ties and scarves.
So when drawing a comparison regarding the two descriptions, or should I say four descriptions, it seems to me that the terms corporate ties and corporate scarves are viewed on a higher level or profile than company ties and company scarves, even though a person referring to or needing corporate ties or scarves may well punch in the term company ties or scarves looking for the items they require.
I would say also, that this analogy could also refer to items such as company socks and corporate socks whereby corporate socks would be ordered as a more formal or perhaps fun item to be handed out to staff or customers for the purpose of either wearing them to promote the company or alternatively to wear them because they are actually a really well made item and deserve to be worn equally as much as any other sock that may be sitting in the sock drawer.
