I would say that school ties and custom ties are most definitely related apart from the fact that intrinsically, they are the same item as in both are ties no matter if one of them are school ties and the other custom ties.
Both ties are made in a similar way, it could well be that depending on the types of school ties we are talking about, custom ties could be made in a different way in that they may be longer or wider of have a little more lining but the fact is that both custom ties and school ties are definitely related.
When it comes to the term custom ties, this could also refer to corporate ties and branded ties who for the most part are the same thing with sometimes some small changes.
So if we look carefully at the term school ties, this means that they are ties made specifically for the purpose of being worn at school and generally by scholars.
However, there are two other types of school ties that I would like to throw into the equation.
These being for starters, old boys ties which are in one way not school ties, they are custom ties designed for the person who is just leaving or who has left school some time ago right up to the ripe old age of whatever one might be as we know for sure that age has no bearing on whether one qualifies for the status of an old boy, if you went to the school then you are either an old boy or an old girl, finished and klaar!
So having said this, a custom tie in its purest form, custom made for an old boys or old girls society.
The other type of school ties are those ties specifically manufactured by a tie manufacturer or tie maker for the generally although not specifically male teachers at a school.
We are finding that more and more, especially of the traditional, long established schools are looking to make custom ties or school ties for their staff to wear.
To me, this makes a lot of sense in that just because a teacher may not have gone to the school at which they teach, and most often, but not always, this is the case.
These teachers may very well want to be recognised as being part of the teaching staff at a particular school which may well have a huge reputation amongst teaching staff with an element of great achievement at being chosen as part of the teaching fraternity within that specific school.
So whilst these are just two examples of ties that can definitely be recognised as both school ties and custom ties, it is important to note that all school ties are custom ties.
Why? You might ask?
Well the reason I say this is simply because any school tie has been custom designed specifically for a school, whether it is a plain tie with no logo or a striped tie or a tie with a logo and design, it doesn’t really make a difference.
