The answer is- not they don’t!! Definitely not!

Tie makers and tie manufacturers and no, they are not exactly the same thing either which I will explain in due course, also make for example, custom scarves and corporate scarves.

Many tie makers also make other items in their factory and the reason for this is that very often, custom ties and custom scarves can be quite erratic from an order perspective. There are certain times of the year when the tie makers or tie manufacturers are more busy than at other times and so they often require fill in work which doesn’t relate to custom ties or custom scarves at all.

This can sometimes be a problem for factories as multi tasking for some people is not the easiest thing to do and so if a person is taken off for example making custom ties and custom scarves and moved to making golf shirts for example, it can often cause a disruption from a labour perspective because it now involves a complete change of skiil set to make one item as opposed to another and this can take a bit of settling down to get back into it.

An example that you may understand the difference is a pizza chef who is quiet during the afternoon because the Pizza rush is in the evening. In order for his boss to maximise on his time and so he doesn’t stand idle, gives him or her, the task of making sushi during his/her off time from making pizzas.

You can understand how there is some adjustment both physically and mentally for this person to move from making pizza’s straight into making sushi and vice versa.

I know its probably not the best  example but it is an easy way to explain the difference and achieve a better understanding because after all, we all know and love pizza and sushi- well most of us anyway!!

Any way, I digress- the fact is the tie makers or tie manufacturers are such an integral part of the manufacturing process for both formal wear and school wear and they fill such an important place in the whole scheme of things that its very important that tie makers and tie manufacturers are kept in business.

Very  often, tie makers have evolved into tie makers. They weren’t always tie makers or tie manufacturers, they just somehow became tie makers or tie manufacturers for some reason. So what I am saying is that it would not be true to say that all tie makers started off with the express intention of doing this particular mode of manufacturing.

However, it is true to say that tie makers who make custom ties regularly, in other words, every day at some point really become good at what they do. Again, when comparing to pizza or sushi, it stands to reason that the more one does a particular thing like make custom ties or pizza’s, one has to get good at some point.
