Corporate socks as a term is a bit loose. My reason for saying this is actually “what are corporate socks” did someone invent this term? If so, for what reason?

So my definition of corporate socks is that they certainly are branded socks in every way.

Just like custom ties are branded ties aswell as corporate ties and just like custom scarves are corporate scarves which leads us to understand that although they have different terms, many of these items are one and the same.

It’s the same as corporate jewellery encompasses all segments of corporate jewellery from cufflinks to pin badges etc.

Just the same as school scrolls and school badges encompass all types of embroidered badges (mainly for schools I must add in terms of what we do but that is by the by.

So why are corporate socks called corporate socks? Well I guess the main reason would be that they are branded socks but instead of having a fashion pattern, corporate socks are more aligned with the company logo, products they manufacture or simply just the name of the company doing the corporate socks or branded socks.

So when corporate socks are designed, they are designed with the theme in mind of promoting whatever is intended for promotion.

So for example, one may see a banking institution having corporate socks made to hand out to their valued clients, these socks would them generally be branded with the name of the institution, or perhaps a vision or motto that the bank has invented to further their cause (How can we help you?) for example.

This is a really great way of essentially advertising the slogan or institution. I mean, how much personal can one get when you have a pair of socks in a persons drawer that get worn on a regular or not so regular basis with the name and slogan of your company on them- hows that for banging home the message in no uncertain way?!!

To me, I think one of the cleverest and most cost effective ways of promoting ones business is to hand out corporate socks or branded socks and as long as the intention is good for example, the quality is good, the fit is good etc, there is no reason why the corporate socks or branded socks should not be worn.

It is the same I guess as doing custom ties for ones company with the express intention of handing them out for whatever reason, the main reason obviously being to get some mileage but the underlying reason to say thanks or welcome to our company or brand and here is  one of our corporate ties or  branded ties which in any case are custom ties.

In another blog post I will delve a little deeper into how custom socks begin their lives both from a design perspective aswell as a production perspective but that is for another day.

In the meantime, if you have thoughts of doing something to promote your company or brand, give custom socks or corporate socks a though and please don’t forget custom ties aswell!!
