In my many previous discussions regarding ties, I have said that custom ties cover all types of ties and that all ties are custom ties which is correct.

Under the umbrella of custom ties are items such as corporate ties, company ties, branded ties, custom school ties, ties for tie ceremony, promotional ties, ties made from tie fabrics(although this is very often for woven ties and not printed ties aswell as custom ties for schools, matric ties made from matric tie designs, sports ties, branded ties, striped school ties and many other types of ties.

At the end of the day, these ties are all made by tie manufacturers or tie makers.

Tie makers are essentially the same as tie manufacturers, it is difficult to distinguish the difference between the two other than to say that perhaps the term tie manufacturers represents a more formal, perhaps larger and more sophisticated set up than that of tie makers but essentially, they are really the same thing.

In the day to day operations of tie makers or tie manufacturers, the factory will transform a piece of fabric into something much desired and most wearable which I think is a really awesome thing to do.

There is a certain amount of precision required to make custom ties and for that matter to also make custom scarves as custom scarves and corporate scarves are also made by tie makers or tie manufacturers in the same factory.

Although the process to make custom scarves is much easier than making custom ties there is still a considerable amount of skill involved as one need to be especially careful when sewing all sides of the custom scarves, it can be tricky and involved as fabric moves so is not so easy to work with moving fabric when one has to be so intricate- remember, the lines have to be straight, they cannot be skew!

Also when it comes to custom scarves or corporate scarves, the fabrics differ from satin to pongee to chiffon and each one had a different structure and requires a different way of sewing.

Custom scarves are not easy to make, the process involves exact print (sublimation) , good quality fabric and a really well equipped seamstress to ensure a good end product.

When it comes to custom ties, made by tie makers, the precision involved is also significant- far more than that of making custom scarves. The process from start to finish is an involved and meticulous process of ensuring at the end of the day that the tie doesn’t twist as this is the true mark of how well a tie is really made- if it twists when held by the thin end and held vertically with the wide end just off the floor, it should remain straight and should not twist.

There are of course many other factors to the make up of good custom ties but this si the starting point, the testing point.
