There has long been a significant connection between corporate jewellery and corporate ties.
This stems from a number of years ago when it was tradition for many companies and clubs to do custom ties and corporate jewellery together to be handed out to staff and clients.
This was always deemed as a really amazing gift to receive if you were the client and a really proud moment if you were the employee.
Many companies also did company ties and corporate jewellery for occasions such as long service awards and in fact, there are still a number of the older more established companies who still do this for their staff, often very much out of tradition but the thinking behind it is. I think, really clever.
When it comes to long service awards, the thinking behind giving custom ties or for that matter corporate scarves with a year on the tie is extremely clever.
Normally quite a big thing is made of these occasions where such things as custom ties, corporate scarves and corporate jewellery are handed out to those staff deserving of an award and by this, I mean a long service award commemorating the length of time the staff member has been with the company.
This translates really into a seniority thing because those staff no matter the level of job they do who are receiving for example a 30 year award are able to show off their seniority to other staff who may have been there a much shorter period of time.
This is really quite good for the morale of that individual to receive recognition for what they have done for the company by way of years of service.
Many times, this happens with both custom ties and corporate scarves and very often corporate jewellery.
In my experience, the gratitude experienced by long service when they receive such an award is really good to see and a really positive thing for the company or organisation giving the award.
Anyway, I digress a little because this blog is actually about the connection between corporate ties or custom ties as we often call them and corporate jewellery and please keep in mind corporate scarves as they are such an important part of this equation.
One of the big benefits of giving these items away together is that both custom ties and corporate jewellery have a higher perceived value than cost.
When purchasing gifts, I have always tried to convey to our clients how important it is to try and give gifts that have a higher perceived value than cost.
By doing this, the company or corporate purchasing these items is able to spend a lesser amount of their marketing budget thereby saving some of it for another purpose.
One of the items that has huge perceived value is corporate jewellery by way of cufflinks, brooches, tie clips etc simply because they are shiny and represent something that costs a lot of money.
It is really interesting how all of this works psychologically, but lets save that for another discussion!!
