Apart form the obvious differences in production, which I will go into during this blog, there are many similarities between the two types of manufacturing.
Whilst there is a huge difference in how both items are made, they have many things in common or should we say common denominators which go towards the make up of things like corporate ties and corporate jewellery.
For example, in both disciplines, there needs to be a design which is then approved.
The design has to show as close as possible how the finished item will look.
So if it is corporate ties or even custom ties or branded ties, then the design should reflect as closely as possible how the actual item will look once manufactured.
This is often much easier to show in corporate ties than it is in corporate jewellery such as cufflinks, name plates, pin badges and tie clips.
The reason for this is that a piece of corporate jewellery is three dimensional as opposed to corporate ties which are mostly one dimensional in design.
So when designs are done for corporate jewellery, it is really not easy to show the three dimensional aspect, especially in one design which means that during the design process, one may need to show the design from various angles which still doesn’t always show the true end result of the look of the item.
Fortunately though, we have never yet had a situation whereby the end result is inferior to the design itself and normally the response when the client receives the order is one of great surprise and joy which makes our lives so much more pleasurable.
When it comes to the design of corporate ties, branded ties or custom ties, quite literally, what you see on paper is what you get in the finished item, so the wow factor is normally not as great as that of corporate jewellery or custom jewellery.
Although, having said that, most often, the overall look of the final made up corporate ties are more often than not a whole lot more impressive than the actual design because the colours seem to stand out so beautifully when sublimated onto fabric.
Also, the process of origination is completely different between the manufacture of corporate jewellery and corporate ties.
A dye is required for corporate jewellery which is quite an expensive process to reach and something absolutely required in order for the finished item to be made successfully, whereas when it comes to corporate ties, the origination process is quite a bit easier to achieve and much less expensive.
Then, once the design is approved, the dye is made up to manufacture the corporate jewellery items such as cufflinks, name plates, pin badges and tie clips and keep in kind that for the name plates and cufflinks for examples, there would be required, a separate dye for each item.
When it comes to the manufacture of corporate ties, plates need to be made up in order to print the papers for transfer onto fabric.
Then obviously remains the finishing, packing and shipping of such items.
