CORPORATE SCARVES VS CUSTOM SCARVES?

ARE CORPORATE SCARVES THE SAME AS CUSTOM SCARVES?

One could certainly say that corporate scarves and custom scarves are the same thing but in many ways they are not.

For example, custom scarves may be designed for a particular fashion brand to be worn by ladies in a fashion environment ie: out of the corporate environment.

In this case custom scarves could certainly not be referred to as corporate scarves.

However, should corporate scarves be custom designed which most are in any case then on this basis, corporate scarves and custom scarves are the same thing.

When making this distinction, it is important to keep in mind that whilst corporate scarves and custom scarves may well be one and the same, there are many custom scarves that are brand related from a fashion perspective and so would not qualify as corporate scarves but would qualify as custom scarves made exclusively for a specific brand or following a certain design or trend for example paisley.

So paisley can be used in both corporate scarves which are designed as custom scarves aswell as from a fashion perspective and in fact, from a fashion perspective, custom scarves designed along a specific thought pattern to include popular types of designs or fashion looks are extremely popular from a fashion perspective.

Also, we must keep in mind that the big difference between custom designed corporate scarves and custom designed fashion scarves is that one, and I don’t need to say which one as it is obvious, would most likely have a corporate logo or identity whereas the fashion scarf may well have the brand on the scarf but that would also be unlikely as far as scarves go.

Generally, most fashion scarves are not made locally in South Africa for the simple reason that most of these scarves are either silk based or printed on fabrics to which we don’t have access in South Africa whereas corporate scarves or custom scarves printed in South Africa are likely to be made from polyester chiffon which in itself gives a look and feel close to many silks.

The difference between silk and polyester is that one cannot sublimate on silk, it is also not really an ideal fabric to use for corporate scarves or custom scarves to be worn in the corporate market place as silk can be quite delicate and requires very specific care as one cannot just throw a silk scarf into a washing machine.

Also, the set back with silk is the cost compared to polyester with chiffon polyester being the most expensive and highly sought after fabric for use as corporate scarves or custom scarves but still a huge amount less in cost than the silk option.

The other issue with silk is that because it is imported as a made up garment- corporate scarves or custom scarves, the quantities need to be so much larger on order than minimum quantity requirements when printing locally and using locally available fabrics such as chiffon or stretch polyester.
